LCL InterCambio Program
As a part of our socially responsible business model, Las Caras Lindas (LCL) is relaunching our InterCambio Program. The LCL InterCambio program is a give back program designed to support and promote the entrepreneurial and activism spirit of diverse leading women. LCL is committed to the community and continuous works to help women to take their place is leading our community and society. It is our responsibility and honor to support female innovators in our communities who have demonstrated a commitment to addressing the needs of communities by building a sense of spirit and solidarity. Investing in the dreams and aspirations of women is an important step to seeing positive change in who we see leading our communities.

Monique Philips is another formidable woman stepping out to lead in the community through her strengths and talents. Monique recently launched Forte Events, Co. The vision for Forté is to design purposeful events. For Monique, event planning is an extension of her passion for people to build themselves and their community through dynamic events. Events planned right creates space and opportunities for people to connect in meaningful ways. By leveraging her strengths as an event planner Monique has grown the Service Speaks Conference at DePaul University to over 500 student, faculty, and community partner attendees. In 2012, she partnered with Las Caras Lindas to launch their first Tea Gala Fundraiser at Hotel 71. In 2013 she is planning to host the second Pretty Girls Rock Event. This event was formed in 2011 to remove the competition between girls (ages 10-15) by redefining their own sense of beauty from the inside out. Check out the website for more information about Forte Events here.
Karime Assaf is a 2012 participant in the LCL Core Program. Karime has become a State Finalist in the National American Miss 2012 Miss Illinois Teen Pageant! As a part of our commitment to her growth LCL is helping Karime to raise $450 so that she can continue in her journey as a finalist. Click Here to Make a Donation!
Karime describes herself as very goal oriented, motivated and compassionate. She is currently a three sport student- athlete, as well as a vocal musician at Niles North High School. Also an Employee at Champps Americana Restaurant. She plans to become a Doctor and eventually specialize in Oncology then work the field of Pediatrics. Her ultimate dream is to be a part of Peace Corp and travel the world where medicine is scarce, give back to those who don’t have the given resources to help themselves.
As a State Finalist in the National American Miss 2012 Miss Illinois Teen Pageant she is required to raise a total of $450 as a sponsorship fee. This allows the finalists to practice conducting ourselves in a professional manner when asking businesses as well as individuals to sponsor us for the experience of a life time. The reasoning for her desire to participate in National American Miss is to develop important public speaking skills, knowledge of how to conduct herself in an interview and gain pose so anything that she continues to do in life will be graceful. Being an Athlete, she can tell you that she would have never pictured herself in this position, but in our forever changing society she knows that she can get the best of both worlds. This program is a wonderful learning experience and would help her to grow as a young woman. Click Here to Make a Donation
Now it is time to support our in house music artist, T.O.V (Time Of Victory). T.O.V is a conscious Emcee. Her music is a mix of Hip-Hop, Neo-Soul, soft Rock and Dubb-step. Her style is choppy and smooth at the same time. The content is social justice, being conscious of your surroundings, active in your communities and the world. We celebrate her, embrace her and support her artistry! Also, check T.O.V’s performance at Global Girls Celebration of Girls and Women Inspiring Change or her new video on Facebook!
The Intercambio program was launched in 2011, as LCL supported Alejandra Rodriguez in her journey to becoming Miss Latina Illinois. Alejandra is an alum of the first LCL youth LEAD Core Program. Through the LCL Intercambio program, Alejandra was able to raise the funds necessary for her to compete in the Miss Latina Illinois 2011competition, in which she was one of the top finalists. We remain grateful for her leadership and her commitment to her community!
