LCL Curriculum Illustration Contest
& We Need Your Vote!

LCL is at an exciting point in our development! This year we have already launched our new website, launched a new leadership program for youth and expanded our Youth LEAD Institute core programs. As a part of our goals for 2012 we have been working on our program curriculum book for our Youth LEAD Institute and are nearly complete. Now we need your help to select the cover image for our workbook that will be distributed to all LCL participants!

Four amazing community artists donated their work and we would like for you to help us to select the picture that you think would best inspire our young girls in their journey.

Description of the art piece: The technique includes charcoal and white paper. The media was used due to the possibility to highlight white and black and its different shades and tones. It allowed to emphasize the details and highlight one face that has two sides. The image depicts the struggle of a segregated community and their internal search of identity trying different faces and facets. During this search a woman may experience frustration and shame, being unaware of her own beauty. Likewise, without realizing that beauty is never lost and that it is not about a color, face or body. The artwork represents that every women is a divine design, beautiful by nature because everything God does is and will remain beautiful.
