LCL on Social Networking 101

OMG! Does it really matter what you say on Facebook? In response to the growth of social media in our lives LCL created the  LCL Social Networking Guide Final_2010 for youth. After reading this guide youth will be able to better understand the power of their words, the impact of their actions when using social networking sites, strategies to improve their image online while still staying true to themselves.

Did you know that “500 top colleges found that 10% of admissions officers acknowledged looking at social-networking sites to evaluate applicants. Of those colleges making use of the online information, 38% said that what they saw “negatively affected” their views of the applicant (Wall Street Journal 2010).”

Included in the guide are the Do’s and Don’ts, key checklists and instructions to set your security settings and other safety tips for young women to consider. LCL Social Networking Guide was developed by Stephanie Aguilera, Past LCL Intern and undergraduate at Notre Dame University.
